Alrighty then...I have spent a little time on this thing and have figured a few things out (I think)! To be honest, to begin with it was all Greek to me (snicker snicker!) and I wanted to actually know what I was doing before we embarked on our Greek Odyssey (Mama Mia what a groaner)....okay, I've got those 2 out of the way now. If you see sqare brackets around letters or numbers in my text and wonder what it is. That is my trying to use the travelblog formatting code to italicize, or bold text. A few more little tidbit before we get back to our story. For those of you who have subscribed: your e-mail filter may see the notifications as junk mail so check your junk mail file and mark it as not junk. For those of you who notice such things as spelling...there is no spell check on this, and I am not the worlds greatest speller so deal with it!
A little caveat here....Our flights (book in Jan) to and from Greece are booked with Alitalia which, as you may have heard, is experiencing a few "problems". We have just been hoping for the best. Gord received an e-mail (subject line written in red) when he got home at 3;30 am from his last shift. It stated that a major change had been made to our reservations with Alitalia and we need to call expedia right away. We called and were told we had been removed from our flight and then replaced back on the flight! Not sure what that all means but we have our little itinerary/boarding pass printed and well, we continue to hope for the best. Our biggest worry was being able to actually get there...if Alitalia goes belly up while we are there we will find some way to get home. Oh, and did I mention that for some strange reason the powers that be in the Greek Ferry Schedule release the off-season (after 15 Sept) ferry schedules in bits and dribbles so in fact we are still not sure exactly when we will be able to get off some of the islands and on to others!!! We have ended up flying to a few just so we could make some plans...again, we hope for the best.

18 Oct-23 Oct Crete (only 30 kms from Karpathos, no sched yet, may have to swim)
23 Oct Athens 24 Oct home (may have to swim home to)

Welcome to Europe....again!
Hi Guys.....you must be exhausted but happy to be finally on your way....wish we could have hooked up with you but I think it will have to be in Canada somewhere. Hope all is well...I am just packing now for my trip to Canada next week. Can't wait to read about your exciting adventures....and of course PICTURES!!!!
