Surfing in Santa Theresa
Early in the morning is the surf the best so here I am riding it! At first it was a bit of a shock to enter Costa Rica,
After spending the rest of the time in coutries like guatemala, honduras and nicaragua, it looked liked as soon as a crossed the border that I came in to the U.S. Big tourist busses (and yeah big american tourists aswell) everywhere, all billbords and everything in English.
But after traveling a bit in the coutry I started to understand why it atracts such a lot of tourist! Great scenery, beatiful natial parks but for me the main thing great surf!!
From Nica I went on a boat trip in to Costa Rica, from the boat we could see monkeys heaps of birds and even a turtle swimming!
I made my way to Volcan Arenal, the most active vulcano from Central America. Made a stupid descision to join a tour to see the vulcano...first to hours walking in a rainforest with a guide that only tells about all the ants (I hoped there might be more interesting creatures in Costa Rica) and then when we arrived at the lookout point of the vulcano....nothing but clouds. Well there were some hotsprings included in the tour so there were
prety nice and relaxing but afterwards I felt a bit dissapointed that we did't get to see the lava.
Luckily there were some other with te same feeling so with them we hired a taxi and brouth us to the vulcano which we could see clearly at night.....the lava rock rolling down was great to see...
From There I went to Monteverde, they say the best national park for birdwatching, I saw more birds waiting on the bus out of there than in the national park. Then I had a stop over in San Jose, bought a flightticket to Chili for the 4th of January, and the best so far was Santa Theresa.
Great place for surfing, 5 days good waves and so for me it was a lot of fun...Could have stayed longer there but ....with the flight in my mind needed to go on. Another night SanJose on my way to Puerto Viejo for Christmass. For a night san Jose is all right, we checked out the night live with a bunch of people from the hostel...was good, but I didn't want to stay longer in the city....wanna surf somewhere again!
