Hi all!

I FINALLY HAVE THE INTERNET!! It's been nice being able not to have it in my room, 'cause I just do my homework and then read my book at night (since we don't have a tv, either), but it was starting to get inconvenient what with homework assignments, etc. Finally, though, I have it!

Yesterday I had class and then sprinted with a few people down to the WIST office, our housing people. We handed in our paperwork and then, if you believe it, got EMAILED our passwords so we could ACCESS the internet. When we were like, "So...um....stupid question, how do we get to our email without having the internet?," we were told to figure it out for ourselves. After struggling last night, though, I finally got it! Was running on battery power since I still didn't have a converter for my computer's plug, but today I stopped at an IBM store and bought a European cable, so thankfully I can now use my laptop in my room! Woo!

I also got registered yesterday as an official student in the university. Here's another kicker about Austrian bureaucracy, though. We were registered and given our cards, but first we have to wait 2-5 days to be "officially" enrolled, and then we have to go somewhere on campus and to activate our cards, followed by going somewhere else to make sure they're functioning properly. WHAT?!?!?!?! Yea.

That's about it, though. Sunday night I went to the movies with George and Orla to see Ossi's Eleven, a German (literally, from Germany) film that's sort of a spoof on Ocean's Eleven. It was pretty entertaining, we were the only people there besides two Austrians about our age, and a few times they started laughing at things we didn't understand so Orla and I would just fake laugh, too.

There's a thing tonight for the international students that happens every other week at a restaurant up by school. I'm going to meet Miriam and my friends up there, so that should be fun. Otherwise, just catching up on so much stuff I've missed over the past week. Registering for classes tomorrow!

Auf Wiederschauen!

Woo for you! Just took Lucy and Chase for a long walk and then picked up Kat - you know how much Lucy loves to go for long walks! She's totally wiped out! It is very hot and muggy here so it is refreshing to look at your awesome pictures. No clue what the temp is but it looks beautiful! Have fun tonight - sounds like you are quite the social man! And...I'm all about the fake laugh! xok
