BIG pumpkin
First stop since my last blog is the Tennessee state fair and I've fallen in love with the goo goo cluster......There goes the diet. A goo goo cluster is pecans, marshmallow, covered in caramel and chocolate on a stick they then cover it in batter and deep fry it.....YUM! Since the fair is the only place you can get them....I had two....mmmm Healthy!

The fair was a lot of fun....somehwere between the size of the Minlaton Show and The Adelaide show. Sideshow alley and the rides were all completely the same as you see at home. Everything else was a little different, a couple of stunt men on motorbikes in a big steel ball were pretty interesting but the best part was the agriculture section, I still can't get over the size of the giant pumpkin. (Chris you need to show Peter and set him the challenge of growing one that big) They also had what looked like a science fair but the projects were all based on the topic of agriculture.

We stayed at the fair til late and saw Billy and a bunch of other song writers do an in-the-round session. Billy still has his latest song

Centennial Park
holding onto July on hold with Keith Urban.....Its a pretty good song not as good as Angel but it would be cool to see Ketih record it, hopefully it makes the cut for the next album.

Sunday afternoon I got off my lazy butt and went to Greece to see the Parthenon.......Well maybe not Greece but I did see the Parthenon. Centennial park in Nashville has a replica. Not sure if it's the same size but it is definitely a massive structure. The visitor centre there was closed so I didn't get to go inside and find out why or what the reason was for having built it, but it was a gorgeous sunny day and fun to just hang out in the park and watch the locals. I also walked past Office Depot (the american equivalent of office works) The sign on the door said now hiring so I picked up an application.

Sunday night it was off to the famous bluebird cafe for more of Billy and Lainey. They had to get through a gruelling audition process to earn the right to play there and they did a great job. Lainey even gave a shout out

Alice, Anthony, Me
to her new Aussie friends cos I had taken a group of aussies from the backpackers to see them play, after the show we all went to waffle house which was an absolute riot.....and exacly like a scene from a movie where people are eating in a late night diner.....our waitress Von even came complete with big hair and southern accent.

Monday I figured it was time to get serious about the job hunting I went to two recruitment agencies and dropped my application for Office Depot off to the store in Franklin and the Manager asked me to do there personality profiling right then and there. The owner of the backpackers mentioned a company called Asurion which is a call centre that provides assistance to people using wireless technology so I applied with them did there personality profiling, had a phone interview and I now have a face-to-face interview on Thursday. Fingers crossed on the call centre job becasue even though the pay stinks the call centre is in the same zip code I'm looking at buying a house and they are open 7am - 12am 7 days a week which will give me flexible working arrangements.

Monday night it was back to drinking and bar-hopping on Broadway. We started at the backpackers with a few drinks and Morton from Denmark played a few songs so we had a sing-along. He even sang his very own Danish version of Sweet Home Alabama (just click play above) Simon his Danish mate very kindly translated the lyrics into english for us (warning they aint clean).

Pumpkin
Peter was intrigued with the pumpkin - thought it would make a few soups! But I think he'll pass on the challenge! Sounds like you're having fun - keep the info coming!
