Derby to Broome

Arrived in Derby, had a look at low tide and high tide. The low tide was very low and you could see all the mud flats, and a boat was stuck in the mud. At sunset it was high tide and the boat was now floating. They can have 11m tides there. The 2nd largest tide variation in the world. Watched a barge being loaded with containers on trailers and set off to one of the islands.

In the morning, packed up left to go to Broome. Booked into the first caravan park and it had a cable gate, which is a new thing. We are right next a mini golf course and I have had fun playing mini golf.

Went out to Gunthaeme Point and met a pet bird called Lex. I got to pat him and he climbed up my arm to my shoulder. He had a little taste of me, but it didn’t hurt.

Had a look at some pearls in town and had our camel ride on Cable Beach at sunset. After the ride I got to feed my camel 2 carrots. His name was Akarbar.

At Cape Leveque we went to Kooljamon Resort to the beach on the east side and swam in the surf. It was nice, had a bit of undercurrent when the water was dragged back in by the next wave. We went back to Broome for a couple for days.

Wow, it looks like you're having a wonderful time. I remember when I went to Broome, it was amazing. I also rode a camal, it was terrific. Mine was called Jenna. The Broome beaches are so beautiful, I miss them! Cape Leveque, was lovely. I remember going on the rocks with my brothers and playing. See you! From Maddy
