I landed in Lima what seems like weeks ago, but in fact has been a little under 48 hours. As they say, home is where the heart is, and right now my heart is completely immersed in this experience.

So, what have I seen? What have I been doing? What has Miraflores offered me and what have I allowed it to show me?
In this time I have bargained with money-changers on the street, I have toured a pyramid in the midst of the city, I have made friends with my dorm-mates, and sat for hours discussing life by the window in my hostel. I have watched Peruvian children play, I have eaten the local foods, discovered Skype, attempted broken spanish, nuzzled up in my sleeping bag, and walked to the ocean.

I wish I could take all the color and texture that is this city and place it in my bag. If only memories could be tangible....

I am so proud of you and it was great talking to you. Don't forget the pictures but as you know they do not do the real life experience justice. I love you. Mom
