Queenie and the boy
Looks like a prison with some gold spraypaint Well I left Shanghai in style riding the Maglev train to the airport. It travels at a sprightly 430 km/phr, covering the 30 km track in 8 minutes. Thats fast, mhmm. The flight to Frankfurt was torture, the connection to London was easy, even if it did involve a bit of sprinting between gates. Im glad to be traveling via train for the next 3 months or so. Met the Celima at the airport and took the underground to Camden where we are staying at Mike and Sophies, thanks guys!
Next day we checked out Camden markets and then headed to a few pubs, several beers and two bottles of nice Chilean wine later we were lost somewhere in greater London, ha. We eventually found our way home and dumped our booty and headed into Leister square for a feed. We somehow found ourselves in an Angus steakhouse and after steering at the 20 pound plus main courses and recieving no service for 15 minutes we decided to exit stage left. No one even noticed, charming. I can see why Kiwi and Aussie labour is so sort after, London service has been at best slow and indifferent. Altho we did

heading home from trafalger find a nice Indian restaurant in Soho that looked after us. Last nights meal was had in a nice and pricey italian restaurant, the food was good but the only communication with our waiter consisted of a terse "you finished?!". The rest of the time he was reading the paper, charming. And then youre expected to tip 10 percent, me thinks not!
Had a look at the Palace thingey and around the Trafalger square area, heaps of old stuff. Cool parks with deck chairs to rent, shame its only about 20 degrees during the day. Altho its a welcome change to Shanghais mid 30s heat.
The underground is cool. Very easy to use and a quick way to get around. Good way to get exposed to londoners also. On the way from the airport the carriage we traveled in got treated to vocal englishmen who was most upset that so much money was spent on space flight and he never got to see pictures of the moonlander. This went on for at least half an hour, very funny. Not sure how many moonlanders the english taxpayer has sent skywards, but hardcase all the same.
Tomorrow I catch
the Eurostar to Paris, exciting! It has been awesome to catch up with Cellima, 5 days in London is just right.
