^ get off the grass! ^

well - i have lots of new stories.

i went to the shanghai musuem - which involved queing in the beating sun for an hour - but then it was into air con and heaps of room and masses to see. 4000 year old pottery, old coins etc. some of it boring, some very cool.

i had my last night in the big hostel, i met some chinese guys who i preceded to thrash in pool and a pom who spoke fluent chinese and thrashed me in return. then i went out with my spanish room mates, they are hard case! we went to a bar called windows which was packed with some of the most stunning women ive ever seen, dressed very nicely also - if nurses are nice, which i think they must be. the spainards wanted to dance, but no-one else was keen, that didnt stop us - but it sure got us some weird looks. the spainards suggested an ordely retreat so we went for somewhere to dance. we come upon a place called the paramount which is ment to be a 30s ballroom dancing bar, but was

not that comfy tho
more like a super cheesy 80s remixed techno happy hardcore bar - for families. ha. they have girls dancing in strange outfits on the stage to the most horrible remake of queen youve heard in your life. you get assigned two or three hosts to look after you - and for some reason we got assigned a security guard also. hmm. so when the music starts 'peaking' your hosts hand you sparklers for you to jump around with, weeeird. tried to take some photos but security man stopped me, so just take my word for it - its like walking into another planet!

moved to my new hostel which is backpacker homestay - which is pretty accurate as its small and run by xiao who is an awesome chinese girl that speaks fluent english and french. i have a big room to myself. the bed has a bamboo covering over the top - ment to be to keep you cold, but very hard - will take some getting used to. xiao and her friend june taught me a card game called "gang up on the landowner" tehehe, very chinese. its a great game. but somehow i always have to

1 billion years old
be the landowner and i get beat on by all the workers, how rude. im starting to get the hang of it , so it will soon be time to collect my taxes! my new digs is actually a four bedreeom apartment on the 17th floor, in a very cool area near the famous jade temple. im very happy to be speeding the next 8 days here. oh, only two other people staying here at the mo, both kiwis, classic.

well time to find some kai

When I was there the last time about a week ago, the chart with the latest Landlord-Ranking was still on the wall. I guess as a sign of respect to the Kiwi who demoralized the Chinese ...
