I loved New Orleans from the moment we arrived. The weather is still hot but it's very muggy as opposed to dry like Vegas ... and it's very, very green!

The majority of the architecture is French inspired; making the city look very old world and romantic.

Then there is Bourbon Street !!!!

We went for dinner along here each night and then hit the "strip" for some cheep drinks ($1 beers and $5 Jager's = awesome!). very friendly, southern style hostitality wherever we went and we ended up having a few massive nights bar hopping around the place.

Went to the Red Fish for dinner (boys we went here) ... and was awesome (again).

Hurricane damage 2005 - As Heather expected "the Tourist area - French Quarter" is top knotch back to scratch however you dont need to travel far to see that not all is back to "normal".

We travelled the "Street Cars" (Trams) every day into town which was a great experience, especially as there is no set schedule, you just wait, wich is always fun on your way home after a few brews!

We enjoyed a fabulous sunset dinner & Jazz cruise along the Mississippi on the Paddle Steamer Natchez. The evening was quite overcast with the occasional lightning strike on the horizon (but no rain!) and that gave the river a moody feel; this set the scene for a spectaculor sunset.

All and all - a wonderful stop of great food, good music and some wild entertaining nights.

Paddy O'Rileys piano Bar was definately a highlight for music and entertainment, was good to get away from the "apple bottom jeans & boots with the fur" music! Requests flowed a plenty but we (Heather) tried to keep it classy, even though i would have loved to hear some Gary Stewart, or Midnight Oil and i would be lying if the "Horses" cry didnt come out at least once!

Looking forward to hitting the road and exploring this world outside of the big cities, will touch base with some more stories soon.

next Stop Memphis, Tennessee
