Back in bonny Scotland, just returned from the trip of a life time to Cape Town, South Africa. Got many pics to share with you all, sorry they take a long time to upload but I finally got there. Here goes!
I went on the 20th June to 30th June so it was just a quick visit. I went with a very good friend of mine, Andre who was born in South Africa but now resides in Scotland. He went home to visit his family and I was lucky enough to have a host of people look after me. I arrived late Friday night and we just went back to Andre's mates house for some much needed sleep. The next day we were up and off to his parent's house for a traditional braai. This is like a BBQ but different. A braai can be used inside or out and is used by burning wood until you have hot coals on a side section of the braai. The coals are then spread across the bottom of the braai and cooking can commence. We stayed til the early hours of the evening then headed out to a local bar for a drink and a shisha pipe.
The next day we picked up a mate of Andre's and went to Boulder Beach where I was promised I would see penguins. I was not disappointed and also got up close with a dassie and some caterpillars. It was also here that I bought a statue for my mum at a beach market. The guys were actually on the beach making them out of serpentine. We then headed off to Cape Point where I was hoping to see baboons but only saw an ostrich. Which wasn't that exciting cos later on I actually rode one! Yes, an ostrich. Apparently they race them over there?!
Next day we were on the road for the first day of our four day road trip around the garden route. Here we stopped over to ride the ostriches and then went on to Cango Caves. Over 100 000s of years formations have developed and created amazing sights within the caves. We went through and did the adventure tour, where the smallest part was just 45cm wide. Yes, I got a little claustrophobic!
We then headed off to Bufflesrift Game Reserve where we spent the night. Next morning we got to chill out with some baby orphan elephants then it was back on the road again. Today was the day that we were going to bunjy jump. We hadn't really discussed it that much, cos I was shitting my pants and didn't really want to think that I was going to do it. And on arriving I was adamant I was not going to jump off a 216m bridge and plummet to my imminent death. I don't really know what happened between then and standing on the edge of the bridge and after stalling and trying to get out of it for quite some time I finally decide to jump. It was amazingly scary and I'm glad I did it but don't think I would need to do it again. After all, I have now jumped off the world's highest commercial bunjy jump.
Next stop was the final stop on the road trip and we stayed at another safari park with a game reserve. We went on the evening safari and drove through large enclosures with a range of African animals.
We then headed back to Andre's mates where I basically chilled out, enjoyed sleep ins and late breakfasts. I had been managing the pub while Andre was away for 3 weeks before I met up with him and was mentally and physically exhausted so I relished the opportunity to laze about.
Well, thats it from me for now. Enjoy the read and pics.

Love Sarah.

Here you can see the formation has grown from the roof and also from the ground up and has joined together to create one long structure.

This was the craziest part of the cave. There is this whole area with formations everywhere. It was really quite amazing.

This is a much smaller hole than the picture shows. I had to squeeze through here.

The next morning. We were the only people in the entire resort - being off peak - and got to hang out with these orphan baby elephants.

You could feed them by giving it to them in their trunks, or by saying "Mouth open" and they would lift their trunks up and let you put it straight into the mouth.
