camp life is all fun and games...

i´m really enjoying the sports and workshops that i´m doing with the kids... we took them to the park one day and all enjoyed an ice cream and some chilling out time which is a perfect way to spend the summer in my opinion!

we took them for a walk one evening so that they could take their torches out with them... i had a lovely chat with some of the girls and its great that they are able to speak such excellent english - AND be happy to have a go at attempting words and sentences even if their grammar isn´t perfect - it´s a refreshing change from the self-conscious japanese kiddies that i´m used to!

yesterday, the kids had a day trip to lerma... as only 4 of the teachers needed to go, orla, jamil and i had the day off! so the night before, a few of us went out for a couple of drinks... the kids were fussing over my hair and clothes and asked where i was going... when i said we were going into town, they asked if i was going out to flirt! haha... then they asked if they could come too - they´re 13 going on 21 for sure.

that evening, it just so happened that there was a festival going on so we got to watch a magnificent fireworks show over the plaza mayor!

there wasn´t much of a lie in the next morning as the kids were so excited about going out for the day that they were very noisy indeed! orla and i had been given the key for the front door but we couldn´t get it to work... determined not to stay stuck inside all day, we ended up climbing out of one of the windows and hoped that noone saw us!

we then caught the bus into town and enjoyed a day strolling around beautiful burgos and having a gossip over coffee and ice cream... it´s SUCH a gorgeous place, i can´t even begin to describe it... the photos just don´t do it justice! we caught the bus back and had a cerveza in the park as the festivities were also happening around there... it was fun to listen to the live music and watch the old drunk grannies having a dance with each other!
