Let's Go Europe!
2 Backpackers in the Athens airport shortly after arrival. Oh yes . . . that is right . . . they don't speak Spanish in Greece so llegamos does not mean anything here! At any rate, we made it here safe and sound to Athens and everything has worked out real smoothly so far. A few honeymoon perks . . . first we got upgraded to first class on our flight to NYC. Then when we arrived to Athens they upgraded us to a sweet room that has a huge balcony and a perfect view of the acropolis less than 200 yards away . . . it is AMAZING!
The flight over the Atlantic went real fast (for 10 hours!), we were here before we knew it. And even though everything is in greek characters we were able to figure out customs and the metro system and how to find our hotel without any problems and with the help of our Let's Go bible. Now it is about noon here in Athens and we are looking to go out and eat at some nice restaurant for lunch. I think that I'll have a gyro . . . SJ is looking to try a Greek salad and a sandwich.
Flying over the Atlatic
Here we are in mid flight trying to avoid jet lag It is about 95 degrees here which was a bit toasty as we were walking through the crowded streets with our huge backpacks. Now that we have ditched the bags in our room, it feels pretty nice. Athens seems pretty quaint and calm and we are so pumped to explore around these next 3 days. More later, and pics too. Tus bous!
