From Katie- WOW!!!When they say GSE is a once in a lifetime experience they are not kidding! there is no way i could tell you all evertyting I have had the opportunity to do (i would be writing for hours....days??) So just want to list some of the things we have been doing- went to turtle farms, dancing, swimming in the sea (out to the breakers), dancing, eatting local foods (cassava cake, turtle stew, conch fritters, meat pies), dancing, shopping and oh yeah- did i mention dancing! we have wonderful hosts that are taking good care of us and making sure we are getting a taste of the local culture. As far as vocational days go since i last wrote- i have been to mental health services and was lucky enough to be able to attend a conference the local hospice was putting on. Talk about timing! Who would have thought I could get CEU's on my GSE experience. Already have some great ideas and have forged new relationships that will continue to grow. Well, i will leave you with a taste of things yet to come....stingray city, going to Hell (its a city!), fish fry...just to name a few. till next time........
From Cynthia -- WOW is an understatement! Dreams do come true, thanks to Rotary International; each of us has been able to meet our individual vocational and extracurricular goals in the Caymans. Our hosts Carl and Hazel Brown and Mrs. Sybil McLaughlin have rolled out the red carpet and taken us everywhere we've wanted to go. In addition to meeting and shadowing the wonderful staff at Cayman's Government Information Service (GIS), I got to dance to Reggae, Calypso and Soca in the Caribbean and others got to check off items on their bucket lists too. :-) Conch fritters and beef patties have become our local favorites in our Cayman diet and we've been able to try Turtle Stew and go to a Turtle petting zoo too! I seriously enjoyed visiting Boatswain's Beach and the Turtle Farm where I held a turtle and swam in the lagoon. This experience is enabling me to do things that I could only imagine in my wildest dreams. Today, we will attend church and then go to Hell! I know, it sounds crazy, maybe we should go to Hell (a small town on the island) and then go to church but either way, we can say that we've been to Hell and back! Attached is a photo of Katie and I with our Caymanian host mother Ms. Sybil at the Sunrise Rotary Club meeting.

Ask Me If I Am Jealous
Cynthia, Sounds like the perfect trip. Business yet pleasure; educational yet fun. Reversed postcard note- WISH I WERE THERE. Oh wait, I have to read my book for Desert Sisters Club.
