Lenin's MausoleumLenin's MausoleumLenin's Mausoleum

Dimly lit and guarded to the extreme. The Mausoleum was good, but not the way I want to be remembered.
Good Afternoon all, we hope that you are all well and missing us.

We've spent the last six days in Moscow, and finally we feel comfortable and know our way around.

The first day was spent sightseeing with our tour group, exploring the sights of Lenin's Mausoleum, The Red Square, St. Basil's and the Kremlin.

Lenin looks very waxy and dead. The guards make sure you're constantly moving, which is scary when you pause to look at his freaky finger nails.

It was very cold which made it hard to spend the whole day out, but we managed after a late lunch we headed out to the Vodka Museum, where we had a tasting or two.

We thankfully only had to stay one night extra at the worst hostel ever in Moscow before we relaxed in the luxury of the Park Hyatt Moscow.

We spent our time relaxing as the Vodkatrain was full on. But we also went to the Amoury Museum in the Kemlin, it was fantastic. They had collections of gold and silver gifts of platters and cups, covered with jewels, they has been given to the different Tsars from other European countries.

It's completely made of wood, and a rabbit warren inside. I lost Stephen a few times, but there's always a gift shop to send you the right way.
Also had a collection of clothing over the different eras and a huge collection of carriages again given to Russian royalty by different people.

We also went to a market on the Saturday, where it rained the whole day. But we were able to pick up some cheap souvenirs for ourselves. Then we did the cheap thing in Moscow and did a tour of the metro stations, they are amazing. Dad, I can confirm they do have chandeliers in the trains stations.

Unfortanately our time in Moscow has come to an end, and we are flying out to Istanbul where it should be much warmer. The hotel is driving us in a hotel car to the airport, even if we look like bums with our back packs.

Til next time.
Much Love.
Michelle and Stephen.

Some of the train stations are like galleries or museums, there are five main ones, one is really new, one is really old and one is the longest.
