And those five reasons are: 1. Ice ceam is nicer and with bigger servings. 2. Beer is nicer and still cheap. 3. The city feels more real. You can see people living here whereas Prague looks like a big theme park for tourists that no one actually lives in. 4. The women are better looking in Poland. 5. Krakow has free fozball tables in their shopping centres. Stephen beat Michelle 2-0. This is Stephen's list, I think he enjoyed Krakow a bit more than Prague. It may have had something to do with the fact that we had a great hostel [View Full Entry]

After a night with no sleep, and listening to a stupid Australian, Stephen didn't really have a great impression of Prague. But after spending a couple of days here I think he has changed his mind. It's a wonderful city full of such atmostphere and energy. That may have something to do with the soccer being shown on big screens in all public squares, but it's still a great city. Our first day was filled with exploring the Prague Castle and you know what there is actually things to see in the castle, which is a nice change from Brastislava Castle. [View Full Entry]

Bratislava feels like a Sunday everyday: not because its relaxing and you don't have to work, because let's face it when you've been travelling for as long as we have everyday is a weekend. No, nothing is ever open!!! We arrived in Bratislava two years too late to get the really cheap eastern europe prices. But still the old city was pretty and there was a fair bit of sightseeing to be done. We arrived in the afternoon from Budapest not having too much hope for our hostel as nothing was available on Friday night due to the Euro 2008 cup [View Full Entry]

Greetings from Buda or was it Pest??? Our visit to Budapest was a bit of a whirlwind we had a day and a half to visit all the main sights. We arrived late and found our way to the wonderful Alfa hostel. We were later than we thought as we changed time zones, now we are 8 hours behind Melbourne. As Budapest is divided in half by a river, one side is named 'Buda' and the other side 'Pest'. Our hostel was situated on the Pest side of the river. Joseph the hostel manager asked us to pay in Euros, which [View Full Entry]

Greetings from Romania. Our time in Romania began in Bucharest. We arrived early in the morning off an overnight to find our hostel receptionist shagging his girlfriend in what was to be our room. Trust me Stephen and I weren't pleased as we had seats on the train with some weird Bulgarian family and not alot of sleep. We later realised that the receptionist issue worked in our favour as he spent the rest of stay trying to suck up to us, so that we wouldn't tell his boss. It was funny. We hit the sights of Bucharest, firstly making our [View Full Entry]

We're now in Sofia, after a 14 hour train. Nothing considering the past train trips we've done. It wasn't that great a city to arrive into as we got caught in some crazy rain; it just didn't stop hailing and after we waited for to stop for over half an hour in a bank there was only one to make a choice. Stephen was the one who paid for it the most; his pack got the wet right through. We seriously got drenched through our clothes and boots (they have taken two days to dry). Our hostel is great - we [View Full Entry]

We've finally arrived in Athens, the only problem was our flight was delayed for 5 hours. The Israel airport isn't alot of fun and there was no access to the internet. There are only so many times we can play cards. It was pretty painful and no-one even apoligised for it. The problems didn't end there, we caught the bus into the city only to find at 2.30am that the metro wasn't running. Taxi was the only option. We finally arrived at the hostel after passing by some very unattractive greek prostitutes and the hostel still had our beds which we [View Full Entry]

Greetings from Jerusalem, the Holy Land. Israel is an amazing country so far and the journey across the Jordon/Israel border was interesting to say the least. It was here that we met some great people, who became our border crossing buddies - Erin and Jason from San Francisco. Our journey began early, catching a taxi to just before the King Hussein Bridge. From there we caught another taxi to the Bridge where we were sent to numerous different offices for processing by the Jordanian passport control and customs. We then boarded another bus to take us across no man's land to [View Full Entry]

Greetings Everyone, hope you're well. For the past two days we've been exploring the ancient city of Petra. We stayed in a great hostel; Petra Gate in Wadi Musa. The town kinda sprang up out of nowhere, it's located at the top of the hill, before you get to Petra. A buffet dinner for just 5JD, what a bargain! The hommas we've had in Jordon has been the best ever. Back to Petra. Our days started early. On the first day, we took a guided tour for two hours. Mohamed took us through the Siq, which lead to the Treasury. There [View Full Entry]

Hi Everyone, For the past nine days we've been on a tour with Go Bus Egypt. The tour began with an early start and a visit to the Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx. They were amazing, what can I say, they were huge. It's a very busy place, loads of buses, loads of tourist and loads of people trying to sell everything to you. It was here Stephen first got an "offer" for his wife of 40 camels, a good deal we thought, after all my mum love camels. Surely she'd like real ones at home instead instead of a [View Full Entry]
