Ok so I came down to upload the rest of my photos onto facebook this morning, only to discover that they were ALL gone 😞 I actually just am devastated....there were some really good ones so i'm really sorry you guys don't get to see them. The rest of the photos from my first day are gone completely, however I guess as I was with the others yesterday and the day before there will still be some pictures for me to get off of them. All of the funny ones Louise and I took are gone tho I think 😞

Basically what happened was that I uploaded all of the files onto the hostel computer and deleted them off of my camera to free up some space. In the mornings apparently the computer uses this completely non microsoft related programme to wipe the computer of all files every day to prevent viruses and mine were some of those photos. I guess this will teach me not to delete files off of my camera until I have have fully successfully uploaded them. aaaaarrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhh i'm soooooooooo annoyed and upset I can't beleive I was so stupid! What's worse is that there's nothing that can be done about it. At least I still have the memories, it's just a shame that I have no hard copy and I can't share it all with you guys.

Anyway onto happier times...yesterday...

Rhodri, Chris and I went to Chinatown, it was really nice, we went to this Chinese market that they have there and had a browse at everything that they were selling....seriously the amount of people that tried to sell the guys suits was hilarious....I actually think that EVERY suit maker we walked past asked us to come in and have a suit made!! One man was telling us how he made a suit for Bill Clinton!!haha (not sure how true this actually was!)

I bought a little present for Bobbi (but you're going to have to wait until I get back to find out what it is!!hehe - mean aren't I!) I also bought this pretty glass keyring/charm thing which I had my name written in! (we all did actually...haggled dwon the price too :P)

OK so Tony has just told me that he will put any other photos I take onto a CD for free so that I have a hardcopy of them always! They really are lovely here and they really couldn't be more sorry. It's not entirely their fault...it was just a miscommunication thing really...Tony knows to put them on the z drive or something but Din didn't and that's who said they would be fine last night!

Anyway back to yesterday....after our little shopping spree (if you can call it that!) we went and had some lunch - chicken satay sticks and rice chinese style (wrapped in a leaf of some sort so that it was kind of moulded together - yumyum) We then walked past this massive temple which was really interesting...all of the detail - as with most interesting buildings here - was exquisite! We did however get told off for taking pictures of the inside :o whoops...apparently its OK to take pictures of the building from afar but NOT up close of the inside!! Oh well we got some anyway...i'll try and take a copy of the guys ones before they go.

After this we decided to start making our way to the Night Safari. This involved catching the (amazingly clean) MRT and a bus. By the time we got there it was dark and we were given yet another little rainstorm by the skies!! We managed to get this deal where you get a free bus ride and only pay for entry and the tram tour (which is a rip off $32 for what you get!!) Well I guess if we'd have stayed we may have done some of the walking tours too but we were soooooooo tired and our little leggies ached so we decided to just go on the tram tour which had a tour guide. It was quite fun to just sit there and drive by all of these wild animals in the darkness. Obviously it was lit by floodlights....but not a lot, and there were many times when you had to really look into the darkness to see the animals!! I think this made me feel more privilaged and excited as I actually got to see them and they weren't hiding in the darkness!!hehe

The food there is extremely over priced for what you can get in this city....even for a tourist attraction its a TOTAL rip off here!! Also it wasn't very Singaporean....burgers and chips...pasta!!lol....so we waited until we got back to Joo Chiat Rd (where our hostel is) top eat some authentic (and cheap) scrummy food!!

That was yesterday....today I think i'm just going to try and see everything else I havn't seen so far, so wish me luck!!hehe

Orchard Road, Botanical Gardens and the Harbourfront here I come!! This time I will definately NOT delete any pictures until i'm sure they're safe and I won't lose them!!
