Fast food...............Fast food...............Fast food...............

Processed food never tasted so good..........
For breakfast we had our first fast food in 6 weeks! Wolfing down a burger king at 10am was not the best idea. True to form on arriving at his plane seat Greg found it to be the only one with a sticker saying "Broken" Wishing for an upgrade we settled for new seats with loads of legroom. Much to everyones surprise katy slept during take off and spent the rest of the flight cryingat the tv (grey's anatomy) Landed in a very swish aiport at singapore-They even had free internet!

Arrived at Perth at the ungodly hour of 2am (been up a good 20 hours) Meaning we were both deliriously tired possibly explaining why Greg couldn't spell England on his entry visa actual spelling was "ENGAND" Being the only people hysterical in the passport control queue we were quickly pounced on by immigration to see what was so funny. They further took the mick at our numeracy skills and our unemployment status!! Having to declare food and wooden stuff Greg's bag was promptly searched, happy to report all items passed quarantine regulations!

As it was 3am, a sunday at that, the only way t get to our hostel
Long long way.................Long long way.................Long long way.................

A LOng way from home.........
was in form of a taxi costing $30!!! We were chuffed......got told off by taxi driver for not wearing seat belts, defo not in Thailand anymore!
Got to our deserted hostel (even after ringing ahead) We waited and waited and waited fot 7hours!!! Managing to squeeze in a game of guess who. At 9am we still couldn't check in so dumped our bags and wandered into town - which was also deserted! Soon realised we couldnt buy anything cos nothing wa open and even if it was it was super expensive. So after a healthy dinner of our thai 2minute noodles we had an early night. Greg straight to sleep, Katy not loving dorms!
Labour Day -
Still nothing was open but we thought we'd go to the aquarium. Gettin a train and a bus all by ourselves. Aquarium was pretty awesomesaw loads of sharks and turtles. Although the one seal we did sea was pretty lazy. Back to our hostel for another noodle dinner. Went for an evening stroll around the city and it's just like MK just minus the people and its a lil warmer.

6 Hour bus to Dunsborough (including OZ's finest cinama of "strictly ballroom"
Sting ray......Sting ray......Sting ray......

They were cool later saw em in the ocean...........
which greg loved) Not our 1st choice but it's by the sea and has a beach....yay! Got dropped off next to the visitor centre so Greg thought he'd nip in and get directions to our hostel. As he approached the door backpack and lost puppy face on, the rude bitch smiled then shut the door in his face, obviously her shift was over!
Fear not we're resourceful withgreat sence of direction and found it ourselves. Had our own room just had to share everything else. As they actually had shops here which actually opened we pretty much spent the next 3 days eating, sleeping, drinking and sitting on a beach. Although Greg did burn his face so looked like he had 2 black eyes ahahahahah! He felt a little better with his new found truffle chocolate (best ever!) But then got knocked straight back down again witht he battering he received from Katy at the mini ping-pong tournament! Katy's a winner!

Margaret River
Got to the hostel, felt a little bit like we'd just walked into someones house as everyone seemed to know eachother. It was walking into a village pub feeling! After the initial culture shock we soon
Jaws.....Jaws.....Jaws.....

Taken from the right side of the glass......
got into the swing of things- We even started to speak to other travellers- Shocker!
Next few days spent a lot of timewatchjing many a film as the weather was a bit off and on shall we say. Decided to hit a nature trail for an afternoon walk, Stupidly setting off in the midday hea and a rubbish breakfast and no provisions (we have so much to learn) Greg -Mr Laid back- Barnard got a huge strop on (even had some feet stomping action) However we made up for this by celebrating Greg's birthday a day early- We got pissed on a wine/beer/chocolate tour! Had an awesome day, drank and brought loads of wine! Thankfully we had a wicked bunch of people abd therefore decided to have our one and only "out" west coast dinner, but it was well and truly worth it with one of the group falling off her chair and flashing us all her knickers! Deciding we weren't getting enough exrecise or mental stimulation we decided to buy a selection of balls ( from a sports shop) including bouncy, tennis and a fifa approved $80 Fiona (thats a football) Greg had to leave the shop as Katy
1st Beach of OZ............1st Beach of OZ............1st Beach of OZ............

Beach in Dunsborough......thats right no people......ANYWHERE!
casually handed over the cash! All in all Margaret River was pretty cool week primarily down to the people we met and the awesome bakery we found!

Prevelly
Ater being told the best way to get to Prevelly was to hitch-hike Katy hastily booked a taxi! Headed off to get aquainted with our new beachside resort we thought we'd visit the general store to stock up on food for the week as in preperation of our change of address we'd eaten everything ,less to carry you see. The local store turned out to be a joke as everything was triple the price for loads of tin shit! As we had nothing planned for rest of the day we decided to walk back to Margaret River - A mere 10km. A fairly mundane walk, broken by the remnants of a bush fire and Katy getting bitten by a Bull ant- Which did hurt a lot! 3 hours later, Katy creating the biggest blisters known to man. we arrived back in Margaret River. After a mammouth shop (we werent coming back) we opted for a taxi as Katy could barely walk. Sitting eating our dinner of rice and beans some tosspot
Sometimes it rains......Sometimes it rains......Sometimes it rains......

Ok guys stop with the jealousy sometimes it rains just like home....
walked through both of us hoping he wasnt heading for our dorm, but as luck would have it he headed straight there. The tosspot actually turned out to be a quality bloke (Ben easy to remember) also met a Chilean called Felipe, Greg couldnt understand him at all...hilarious. AS it was the first beach we had seen in a week we headed out bright and early the next day, unfortunately it turned into a freezing sandstorm, we tried to stick it out but after 10 mins (we tried that hard) we thought we'd let nature win and headed back to our hostel. Greg and his new found friends/room mates hitchhiked back to Margaret River for some much needed alcohol which turned out to be cack. We are happy to report that the shite weather didnt last and we both got a nice colour before we left.

Cottesloe -
LESSON 1 - DO NOT TRAVEL ON A PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN OZ. As nothing is open including public toilets. Enter a very stroppy Katy. Even so we found ourselves on bus number 2. Packed full people heading for the beach as the bus lurched forward Greg resisted the urge to do
Gourmet dinner.......Gourmet dinner.......Gourmet dinner.......

1st Meal in Oz that wasn't 2 minute noodles.....
a turtle impression -just. Hostel was bang on the beach, that OMG had people on it! Think this was the first time in Oz we had seen anywhere remotely busy. What can we say, the next 5 days were very stressful, consisting of sunbathing, drinking beer on the beach and oh yes going to bed at 9pm. Got some nature in, saw shed loads of Galas and sting rays in the sea. Pretty much somes up our time in Cottesloe, by far and away the best beach so far in Oz.

Lisas House -

For those of you who dont know, Gregs mums friend Tony from work is seeing a lovely lady called Lisa who conveniently lived in Kingsley Perth and who generously invited two total strangers (us) into her home. Not only that she drove an hour round trip to pick us up. Was good enough to talk to a regular non traveller person but when we got to her house we were totally blown away. With out hardcore arse licking, this house (and Lisa and kids) ROCKED!!!. We were shown to our rooms, thats right plural, Greg getting the Bratz decor and Katy obviously getting Disney
Pre-Strop........Pre-Strop........Pre-Strop........

An hour later greg had his mid walk i'm hungry/thirsty/tired strop..............
Princess's, our first seperate rooms for over 9 weeks. Lisa suprised us with the question what would you like for Lunch? both of us giggling in shock as we hadnt eaten lunch in a long time, but hey we soon got back into the swing of things. Soon forgot we were travelling settled into cable TV, free limitless internet and afternoon wine. Lisa went out with the kids in the morning, she insisted we make ourselves at home including making use of the spa bath... Thats right bath first one in 2 1/2 months, it was awesome, bubbles everywhere felt very Pretty Woman -minus the prostitution. Rest of the day was spent playing Princess board games and scooting round the house on the kids scooters. Katy then getting into her routine of helping to bathe the youngest and school book reading. (I ROCK -Katy). Keeping up with the flashpacking, Greg finally had a shave, thanks for all your comments. Followed by both of us enjoying a foot spa, while watching our new fav programme the Chelsea Lately Show. Seeing as we had been in Oz for 4 weeks and were yet to see a decent bunch of Kangaroos we heading
Cute Katy.....Cute Katy.....Cute Katy.....

Katy feeling the "Chill"
of to the local cemetary. There were loads.

In all honestly after the first couple of days in Oz we thought it was going to be pony, however every place we visit we are enjoying it more and more, so its obviously us just taking ages to get used to it. Anywho roll on Sally the Sl*t, which by the way is our affectionate name for our Van.
