Arrived in Singapore on St. Patrick's Day after an eventful trip which involved getting left at the border crossing by our bus and having to get a taxi in to the city !! Stayed at a great hostel in Singapore called Sleepy Sams - it was completely chilled out and very funky ! Singapore is so different to Bangkok it is sooo clean. It was really hot so spent most of our time indoors and in malls !!

For Paddy's night we went out to an Irish bar in Eastcoast Parkway and met up with Iarla Lewis (my aunt's nephew) who is living out here - it was a great night with lots of celebrating and finished off with free Irish Stew at the end of the night !!

We only had a really short time in Singapore so tried to see most of the sights. Spent one afternoon in the snowdome going snow tubing - which basically involved getting out of your shorts and flip flops into snow gear and boots and sliding down the hill on a rubber ring !! It was all a bit bizarre !!

We also made an obligatory visit to Raffles Hotel where we stood out a mile as backpackers and definitely not guests !! We couldn't visit Raffles without going for a Singapore Sling in the Long Bar where we joined everyone else by throwing peanut shells on the floor!! Its bizarre - you walk into this really nice bar in one of the poshest hotel's in Singapore and all you can hear is crunch, crunch as you walk across the bar because the entire floor is covered with peanut shells !!

We also visited Clarke Quay where we found the funniest bar ever - its called The Clinic and basically you sit in wheelchairs around operating utensil tables! You can also buy drinks that come in either a big plastic syringe or a through a drip ! It was hilarious but not sure it would work in Ireland as everyone would probably go off down the road in the wheelchairs !

The weather took a bit of a turn for the worse on our last day in Singapore so we didnt get to do as much as planned ! Instead it was time to pack up and head to the airport for our flight to Oz !!
