Turning Japanese
Running Amok in Saitama Sakura, Sakura, Sakura. The cherry blossom trees are honestly the prettiest things I've ever seen in my life. Including the NYE fireworks in Sufers Paradise. I'm so lucky because they only bloom for a week or so, and I arrived at the perfect time so today Sanae and I joined the masses of people chasing the sakura season.
First we dressed in kiminos and ran around Sanaes local area amusing folk and trying to get the best photos with Sakura by any means possible. Not sure how many people know you wear 2 layers of underwear under a kimino that stretches all the way to the ground, so it's safe to say that those who missed my performance in the public bath house last Wednesday may have been properly delighted by my flashing of kimino underwear while clinging to trees in the wind and trying to look as natural as possible to get the best kind of Gaijin photos. The natural, I do this everyday and don't I look Japanese in my friends mothers kimino kind of photos.
Kiminos didn't last long so we got changed and went sightseeing at Asakusa, the location of the Shoji Temple and loads of tacky souveneirs and then onto Ueno. I won't bore you with the details because all I really did was repeat "Oh its so pretty" about a hundered times and play spot the Gaijin with Sanae. I love Ueno Park though, if you hear me talk about Panda Park or any kind of park park, this is the one I'm talking about because there are signs everywhere saying "Ueno Koen Park" and koen is the Japanese word for park. See? So it's not a typo in the subject line after all x
