Journey to Hilo

We groggily left the dorms at 4:45 a.m and headed to airport. 3 hours later we arrived in Anchorage. In Juneau, Tasha's cell phone escaped from her pocket and slid down to the back of the plane. The flight attendant discovered the phone and took it. She brought it into the Juneau airport, it is currently being fedexed. In Anchorage we had some grub at the Village Inn. We left Anchorage at 3 p.m. and started the excrutiating 5.5 hour flight to Honolulu. We arrived at about 8 p.m. and got our luggage. That was when we realized Nia left the laptop on the plane! But thankfully it was recovered. We loaded up into a big o' van and headed to the Honolulu Airport Hotel. After we settled down and ate some pizza, we fell right to sleep. The next morning we got ready and had a continental breakfast and headed to the airport yet again. Then we just chilled at the airport until the plane left, and finally arrived in Hilo. Upon a arriving we loaded up the rental car and drove to the rental house. We were in awe at the awesomness of it all. Then it was time for SHOPPING! We went to Wal-Mart, the Mall, and the KTA grocery store. Our car was filled up and our wallets were empty so it was time to head to the beach. The sun was starting to set and we sighted our first whales of the trip. Afterwards we went back to the house and made a delicious dinner, and rested up for tomorrow.

Have Fun in the Sun
Wow! That was an exciting trip...especially when a cell phone and a laptop went missing! I would have had a cow! Holy Cow, girls! Anyway, isn't the vegetation awesome in Hilo? You are in my old college stomping grounds! I am jealous as heck! I wonder which street the house is on that you guys are renting? Which black sand beach did you guys go to?
