Boring stuff

I´m still here in Cochabamba. The city is o.k. I keep alternating between liking and not liking it. Having a Swiss passport sucks. I only got a visa for 30 days when I got here (compared to 90 for most other European countries). Today I tried to extend it to 90 days. They only give me 30 days at a time, until I reach 90, plus they charge a large fee (for Bolivian standards) and they keep the passport for a day. I really want to move on and start working and learning some Spanish!

South American burocracy sucks big time. Maybe they wouldn't care if you just don't extend it - but I guess it's not worth the risk.

You pay about $2 per day that you overstay, that´s it, plus you might get problems entering the country again later. Anyway, looks like I´ll have more than just one reason to go to Cochabamba once in a while ;-). Right now my visa is valid until March 23rd. After that, I might also just visit Peru for a bit instead of extending for another month. We´ll see.
