Campervan life
Spaghetti tastes better than in Hilton,
spaghetti smakuje lepiej jak w HiltonieWe are already in Cairns. Sorry for delay in updating but there were no good computers around to download pictures..
One of the best way to travel in Australia is by campervan. We have Toyota Hiacynt and it is suitable for max 3 people. It is equiped with everything we need (sleeping area, kitchen and fridge, kitchen equipment, even microwave)
This way you can plan your trip and see whatever you want. You are your own boss and you are not dependent from other passangers.
There are some inconveniences as well, like:
The person, who travels on the back has often bumpy ride,
or if someone is as big as my brother and moves around like an elephant in the porcelaine shop,
or if there is hot and humid in the caravan we feel like grilled king prawns; according to my brother's theory we need to limit our breathing and movements because one person emits energy equivalent to 80 watts heater ;-))
On the other hand if it is humid and raining and you have a waterpipe accident where waterpipe pumped water to the car instead of tank; there is even possibility to dive or snorkle in the

Peter is a driver, I am navigator and Di keep eye on us and everything ;-)) van - you think I wish I was in the hotel?!!
I think we will soon have a mushroom growing on our sofas..
We are stuck in WhitSunday Islands area due to floods everywhere on the Notrh-East coast. Roads are blocked by traffic police so for little excitement we changed...our campervan park for better one.

Jedna z najlepszych metod podrozowania po Australi jest wynajecie vana. My podrozujemy Toyoya hiacynt, ktora jest przeznaczona na max 3 osoby.
Jest w nim wszystko co potrzebne do podrozowania (wyposazenie kuchanne, miejsce do spania, nawet mikrofalowka..)
W ten sposob mozna zaplanowac gdzie i kiedy sie zatrzymac i nie jest sie zaleznym od 30 innych pasazerow.
Sa tez male niewygodnosci jak:
Osoba, ktora siedzi z tylu czesto podskakuje na wybojach, albo jak ktos jest tak duzy jak moj brat, i rusza sie jak slon w skladzie porcelany,
albo jak jest goraco i parno czujemy sie jak wygrilowane krewetki, wiec wedlug teorii mojego brata nalezy ograniczyc poruszanie sie i oddechy poniewaz czlowiek emituje 80 Watow ciepla, jak piecyk,
Z drugiej strony jak jest goraco i leje

Czytanie mapy.. juz 3 dzien i mialo sie maly wypadek z pompa do wody, ktora wpompowywala wode do wnetrza samochodu raczej niz do zbiornika, mozna nawet ponurkowac, myslisz wtedy jak dobrze byloby byc we wlasnym lozku...baaaa ale jak nudno!!!
Mysle ze niedlugo bedziemy miec wlasna plantacje grzybow na naszych sofach..
Ugrzezlismy na wyspach WhitSunday z powodu dlugotrwalych deszczy i tym samym powodzi na niektorych odcinkach drog.
Ulice sa zablokowane przez policje az do ustopienia powodzi, a my dla urozmaicenia zmienilismy sobie miejsce parkingowe...

Yay. That's the way to travel. We went all round NZ in a 5 berth campervan, with a bed over the drivers position, a loo and shower. So it was luxurious, but so big to drive. Jim asked me to drive from day one and alternate days. Scary driving round hairpin bends with sheer drops, but soooo convenient. Must admit didn't have such water problems as you are experiencing. Weather sounds worrying with flooding. Know what you mean about meal on board tasting good, probably cos you are hungry. Lovely to see that Piotr has joined you. Thank you for text and post card.
