*phew* i have blonde hair once again! yes, my trip to toni and guy was a success... and quite an experience! they were eagerly awaiting the arrival of the foreigner and as soon as i stepped out of the lift, they were all lined up by the front desk ready to greet me! the whole time, i had at least 2 people fussing over me, and they even went out and bought me an english magazine to read, as all the others were in japanese! then, they brought me a big cushion to rest my magazine on so i wouldn't have to strain my neck looking down at it! what customer service hey?! the colourist spoke pretty good english but the girl cutting my hair didn't really speak a lot of english so she spoke to me in japanese... i surprised myself with understanding most of what she said - and replying in japanese! not too hard when a lot of words are simliar to english words (e.g. "saigo ni hair straightener" = at the end do you want your hair straightened with the straighteners... easy!)

afterwards, i met up with laura and mindy for a really yummy lunch and then we chilled out with a coffee and cake in starbucks for at least 2 or maybe 3 hours! girls can talk FOREVER!

it's been a reasonably quiet week otherwise... not that many classes at school, so i'm downloading a lot of movies which i've always wanted to watch and getting out books from the library that i've always wanted to read... i'm halfway through 'wuthering heights' at the moment and only now starting to get into it! one of the teachers at school was intrigued and tried reading it but pronounced every single word incorrectly... i told him not to worry as i didn't understand half of the words either!

on friday, we helped wrap a ton of presents for the charity xmas party and then practised our scottish dancing! we were too cold to go carol singing in the end, so met up with dan, james, gareth and cormac for 'nomi hodai' - all you can drink for 8 pounds... when will i learn that that never goes down well with me?!

today is the charity christmas party! yeeeeeah! i can't wait.. i'm in charge of santa's grotto, so i get to mingle with cute little japanese kids and get them all excited about visiting santa! will hopefully take some photos / videos to post on my blog!

i can't believe i'll be back for christmas in just under 2 weeks! next friday, i've got a christmas enkai in fukuoka with all my teachers and then i'm going to stay over at mindy's and laura will join us so on saturday we can be all girly and get our nails done, have a shop (and no doubt ANOTHER starbucks session!) and then watch christmassy movies all night!
