coming into dock.
Before I came to Sydney, I was worried that I may find it too hot - needn't have worried too much after all. It has been hot, but not too bad - but the rain...........as Sheilagh remaked, we've certainly broken the drought (whether it rained in the right place is another matter!). Yesterday did not go according to plan, it must be said, but it was a great day all the same. We decided that as neither Pat or Kerry had golf, we'd all go out together, so we caught the Manly ferry to town, and Patrick pointed out all the places that Mike had taken us to on Wednesday, adding more details of their old haunts. Then we took another ferry to watson's beach, where we sat in hot sunshine to enjoy coffee, followed shortly after by fish and chips. just time for a quick stroll to the Gap (entrance to the harbour) before the ride back to circular quay. Pat and Kerry came home then, Alex and I had a while for a look round before we met up with Bec, Rosemary's daughter, and Monica's sister (for those of you who met her in the summer). We met in

We found a vacant table on the deck for coffee, what a way to spend a morning.
a cafe on the quay, but by then there was a huge storm overhead, rain poured through the awnings, the bridge suddenly vanished from sight, ferries were cancelled and tied up, and the thunder and lightning were amazing. So much of the talking was of the "ooh, did you see that variety"! Luckily after an hour it all blew off to somewhere else, and we caught our ferry back to Manly, met Mike and Marie who brought us home and we all had a seafood barbie - so THAT was the secret location, Chris!!

Christmas party

Aussie style. Being Friday, it seemed that lots of offices decide to stop at lunchtime and party all afternoon. These all came in boats for their do. Could we have Abermule Christmas dinner here next year?

in Sydney harbour. Isn't there a bridge in Sydney somewhere? The lamp is in the next picture too, between my head and Becky's. You'll have to look hard to see it though!

What should we see on our way back, but a P and O ship heading out of the harbour. A spectacular way to leave Sydney, in a storm.

Food
You never seem to stop eating! I think Alex's hair is lovely...do you put it in curlers at night?! Glad it's all going so well. We miss you but we're fine! Lots of love to all, Grandma and Grandad x

More rubbery things!
Calamari Carrie? More of those rubbery rings we had at the sailing club? You may need to get the recipe so you can cook them at home! You must have sea-food coming out of your ears by now. How lovely to catch up with Rebecca....and a thunderstorm over the harbour....what a treat!
