Isn't it so beautiful at night!
Hey guys! Sorry it’s been so long since the last update. We just had a fun fun three day weekend. I’m still not quite sure what holiday was yesterday, but it was nice to have MN, Elizabeth & Lyndsey off for a Monday. This weekend was happening in Manly! It was the annual International Jazz Festival going on all weekend, so people were everywhere. Before I get to that though, MN, Elizabeth, Lynds & I had a fun afternoon in Sydney on Friday. I was there all day exploring, since I am currently unemployed. First when I got there, people lined the streets like the queen was about to pass. Everyone was decked out in their red and white Sydney Swans memorabilia. Last weekend, the Sydney Swans won the Aussie Football League for the first time in a while. Just to give you fellow Americans a rough idea, it’s comparable to winning the Super Bowl in the US. Needless to say, people were very excited. Anyway, I came into Sydney at the exact time the parade for them started. It was really cool to see! I walked around and decided to relax in a bookstore for a bit. I was surprised when right when I walk in I recognize Todd Woodbridge signing copies of his newly released biography. This won’t mean much to most of you, but he is one of the best doubles players in tennis history. It was very cool to see him! The other big news of the day was me deciding to get my hair cut. Since the gum episode (yes, I somehow managed to get gum stuck in my hair, forcing MN to cut it out), I’ve been needing to get it evened out. I figured what a better time than being in Sydney, so I let this random Australian cut my hair, maybe you can tell in some of the pics. Anyway, once MN, Elizabeth & Lynds met up with me, we decided to take a walk around Darling Harbour. Out of all my exploring in Sydney, this has thus far been my favorite place. There were restaurants lining the water and people everywhere. The sun was setting over the Harbour and it was absolutely gorgeous. I actually had brought my 35mm camera for this day, and would love to show you pictures of how beautiful Darling Harbour was, however, somehow I managed to take over 20 pictures without a roll of film being in the camera. Call me a moron, I deserve it haha! We made it home Friday night and were all pretty tired, so called it an early night. Saturday was a beautiful day, so we all decided to relax on the beach for a few hours. The beach was absolutely packed, a sure sign summer is just around the corner! Nothing too exciting else to report on the weekend, we were all pretty much beach bums. Monday was by far the hottest day, getting up to 34 degrees Celsius, I still don’t know how to do the conversions, but I can tell you it felt like a sauna here! Our three day weekend is over, and it’s back to the grind today!

Ya'll are lucky. The weather in Charleston this week has been the worst. I dont know if the sun came out once. I wish I was enjoying an endless summer. The Sydney Swans could be the most fear inducing sports team name in history.
