At the beginning of October we started the second leg of our trip from Lima, travelling through Nazca and on to Arequipa. On the way to Nazca we stopped in Huacachina and did some boarding and driving (our guide did the actual driving of course!) in massive sand dunes. Imagine being on a roller coaster with no rails that lasts 20 minutes at a time instead of 90 seconds! Each dune buggy had room for approximately eight passengers, one driver, and of course the sandboards!

For the sandboarding we elected to lie on our stomachs and go down sand dunes in exess of several feet in height! The hot sands of Peru definitely make you appreciate the snows of Canada!
