Our overnight train to Udaipur took 10 hours and was pretty comfortable although we took the 2nd class sleeper option(for a mere 5 euro). Came to Udaipur as its billed as the most romantic city in all of india and strongly recommended in the guide book. Its also were the James Bond movie Octo Pussy was filmed which we seen today as its on in every hotel every night.

Udaipur is set on a lake and the king of the city is the 76th king from the same family to preside over the city which makes it the oldest dynasty in the world. It was just the place we were looking for. Really relaxed and with european type streets and not much traffic or hassle. The buildings are amazing especially the palace and the other retreats set in the middle of the lake. Also luckily for us, the guide book said the lake would be dried up and one of the locals showed us pictures of the lake which they were driving and playing cricket on up to 2 years ago. But the lake was full and after a visit to the palace yesterday which was pretty interesting(probably the first that was) we took a boat around the lake for sunset(des rose mantic it was!!).

Melissa also forgot to put on mosquito spray one evening - sick pic provided!!

The next day we signed up for 2 hours of cooking classes. The woman who taught us was really nice and friendly and showed us how with a few spices(loads), you can make almost any dish. We made Cheese Masala, Dal(lentil curry for snacks) and Chapatti bread. The best part was getting to eat what we had made. It my new mission for Oz to learn some of these so bought some spices aswell.

Then we made our way to a park which had some cool scenery blah blah blah!!!!

Next were off to Jodphur for the final week of our trip to India but disappointed to be leaving the nicest spot in India.
