Munich is said to be the greatest place to drink a beer on Earth...not being a big fan of beer, I decided to take everyone's word on it and gave the heavy one litre Berrstein a try. I still prefer the sweeter aperitifs, but more than what's in the mug is the manner in which you drink it. A whole room of people singing songs, chanting German cheers and clanking steins together makes the hops and barley and go down a little bit smoother (for me anyway.) The vibe in the beer halls makes it feel like Oktoberfest every day of the year. The crowds are lively and loud and the waitresses make sure the beer flows freely by carrying ten beer steins at a time! I can't imagine this place during the full Oktoberfest, it must be crazy. Stay tuned though, I am meeting my brother for Oktoberfest and it should be a completely different experience!
