The girls who went to Leonardo'sThe girls who went to Leonardo'sThe girls who went to Leonardo's

Holding the delicious tiramisu! (from right: Sarah, Stephanie, Erica, Julianna) We all live together, except Stephanie.
Julianna just said that, and I think that quote aptly describes our experiences yesterday and Friday. Leonardo, who drove us to Assisi, had people over to his parent's home last night, and invited all of us. There were maybe 20 people there. The Italians cooked norcina which is a Perugian dish we made a couple of nights ago. We did a good job when we made it, but the Italians probably did better. They also cooked sausage on the grill, which was delicious and a half. Before we went my roommate Erica made tiramisu, which we brought to the house. Leonardo's parents own a pharmacy (they're both pharmacists) and their house is fabulous. It's quite large and well decorated. They also have a lovely terrace and a large yard with a pool. We spent the evening outside; the weather was perfect. One of the Italian boys has an Australian girlfriend. She talked to us a lot, which was really nice. There was one other girl there, Ana Laura from Mexico, who is connected to Filippo because his mother is from Mexico and Ana Laura knows his cousins. Filippo's parents own a vineyard and make wine, so we drank his family's wine.

I got them at the leather store; the woman suggested I should get the matching purse. I plan on finding a purse on another occasion, but not one that matches.
It was the best I've ever had. I never really enjoyed drinking wine before, having only tried it once, maybe twice. Last night I probably had more than I should have because while the boys watched the France vs Italy soccer game, the girls sat at the table drinking and talking.

A bit later in the evening I started not feeling well, and I recognized my discomfort as very much related to what I had eaten (apologies for the details), like the night I had the five oz steak in June. Being a vegetarian for five years has made it difficult for my stomach to handle meat sometimes. I thought I was fine because that night we went to Eden I had a pork steak as well as a sausage, and a few nights before Sarah made fried pork. I've not had any problems, until last night. I told them I didn't feel well, but nothing really came of it; we were leaving anyway. Filippo took me home and I got sick as soon as I got home. I feel bad because Shannon was here sleeping, and I hope I didn't wake her up. I know I woke her up when I got to the bedroom because I had to move the packages off my bed from shopping the day before. Speaking of shopping, I bought these fabulous shoes yesterday, as well as cheap sunglasses and a very inexpensive red sweater. The shoes were my big purchase, I'm going to put a picture of them up because I love them. Don't worry, parents, they were about as much as I usually spend on a pair of dress up shoes.
