Colour war Captains
With our nicknames on our backs Session 4 has come and gone, and I realised it has been awhile since i last wrote something.
This past session, which had 14 and 15 year old campers, was amazing.
I finally moved into a cabin with kids, and had the really stars of camp. Some kids who will definately become staff.
It was a pretty eventful 2 weeks aswell, with 5 staff getting fired for drinking at night on camp grounds...that was a sad time, as it included my best mate here. But im visiting him after camp.
We had some back-in-the-day counsellors who came to our rescue. One guy, J, i clicked with straight away and after 5 days of him being here, we decided to stay in touch big style!
Anyway. We had a fun filled weekend of a colour wars. We were all split into 4 colours. Red, Green, Blue and Orange..of which I was the captain. We played eachother in everything from Dodgeball to Archery.
After 48 hours of racking up points...I had captained my team to victory! We hadnt held the lead all weekend, until the last tournament of a 'Name that tune' comp.
The 2nd week,
Loud and Proud
The winning captain takes his place! we travelled to a theme park in PA called Dorney Park. It was even better than when we were there last year.
The burning of the N was very sad. As it was many campers last year, and also many staff..including mine. We all shed a tear.
On our 24 hours off, we went down to Tom's River and had a hotel party (yes, another on!)
But the fun was to follow on our 48 hours off after this session before family camp.
We went down to South Jersey and as the whole group (bar 1) was over 21..we went to a bar! It was so much fun. Buying drink after shot after drink after shot. Learning a new game called Russian Roulette...it didn't involve a gun!
We watched a movie the next day, after a sleep-in. Then drove to his Mum's for some amazing authentic Italien food. This was followed by bowling and a good nights sleep before returning to camp.
Travelling begins very soon. Its Tom's River, NYC - pubbing and clubbing. Philly for a week, New Haven to see Yale Uni, then Long island.
