Oh, the irony...

...I got up at 5 this morning to get to Victoria in time for my coach at 7.30. I neednt have bothered- we only got as far as Ewell West and the train was held up for an hour because there was a broken-down train at Stoneleigh! (By the way, sorry if I make any mistakes, I cant get used to this French keyboard, all the letters are in different places!) So to cut a long story short, I actually ended up at Waterloo at 8, got the underground to Victoria and managed to get on the next coach to Paris, at 9.30!

When we arrived in Paris, I somehow managed to get myself to my hotel on the Metro, which was rather an achievement, as I had to buy a ticket from a French machine and get 2 different trains, but its very similar to the London underground really. Im sharing a room with 2 Australian girls, theyre getting the Busabout coach with me tomorrow morning. They seem nice, but I didnt make a very good first impression- theres only 1 key for the room, so I went up and knocked, and this girl opened the door and said "hi" and I said something along the lines of "Oh Im so glad you speak English!"

I just went for a walk- the hotel is near the Sacre Couer so I went up there and got an amazing view of Paris. Im not surprised people complain about getting hassled there- its SO touristy!! You can spot the American tourists a mile off wearing ponchos (it was raining) and rucksacks and bum-bags!

Im nearly out of time because I cant type very fast on this keyboard (and you may have noticed I cant find the apostrophe!). I will be in touch from Amsterdam! Oh and send me your address if you want a postcard!
