Left Reading on Saturday morning to take the train back to London for the weekend. Arrived in at Paddington Station at around 11am, where we left our bags for the day while wandering around the city. Looked at the British Museum, then met up with Sally with plans to go on the London Eye - the lines were ridiculous, though, so we gave up and walked along the river looking at the street performers around the area. Later we made our way back to Paddington Station, stopping on the way to look at an area known as Little Venice.

Today we took the tube into the city (we're staying at Sally's place in Shepherd's Bush) via Hyde Park, where we stopped to check out Speakers' Corner, an area in the park where there is a Sunday tradition of people speaking publicly to a crowd on whatever topic they feel strongly about. Continued along to Covent Garden, where we had tickets reserved for a matinee showing of the Lion King at the Lyceum Theatre. (we missed it when it was in Melbourne, so it was good to finally catch it! Very impressive show.)

We're heading off to Amsterdam tomorrow morning, which involves us leaving the house at around 5:45am. Wish us luck.
