July 10. Up early to Kuranda the falls walk. Victorias lyrebird female acording to couple with book. Later in town little swift parrot hit glass fell at my feet. Got up, staggered, fell, got up and flew away, green with red brow. Lunch and fully sick spruik. Rapturous response. Many report multiple sightings of me! Bird tourist attraction bloke told me it was a two eyed fig parrot what hit the glass. Red tailed black cocatoo for touching. I didn't go in prefering to happen upon them individually. And likewise the butterfly exhibit where I was tempted. Kuranda village from 10 til 3 for daytrippers, me too. Suddenly back in Cairns I felt like Alice in WonderQueensland.

Bravo Fred you brave soul ... and a transplanted outsider to boot ... showing the way. Scorn and ignorance part of the price in this scary jingoistic construct that has seeped into the polis these last 10- 15 years. Don't get me started! Anyway, you gave me a flag in Bronte Park, must be 2 years ago. Worn it proudly on the back window of my little white car ever since. Alas time, tide and salt-laden air have taken their toll.
