USinUKJuly 5th 2007 Pretty good weather day - a little cold but no rain until we were headed back to the hotel around 7PM.
Edinburgh Castle is incredible. Built on top of an extinct volcano, it is sheer rock cliffs on all sides other than the entrance. It is amazing to think that they started to build this 900 years ago. There is so much to see - it is really a town or fort, not just one building. The pictures don't do it justice (although I've posted quite a few) - it is an incredible sight to see sitting high above the city.
Next, we went to the National Gallery of Scotland. Christopher clued us in on this place. No photos allowed there, but great works of art from the likes of Van Gogh, Monet, Rembrandt, Degas, Cezanne, Raphael, Boticelli, etc.
Really interesting, and we could have stayed longer but the closed at 5pm.
Tomorrow, over to Glasgow.
