Today we had a 3 hour coach tour of London in the morning. We had seen most of the sights by this point, but our tour guide was really darling and we got some good views. After the tour we met up with a friend from home, Jill MacGibbon and her boyfriend Ryan. We had lunch together and then explored the Victoria & Albert Museum. The building alone is very impressive, and the sheer quantity of items being exhibited is amazing. We only saw a small fraction of what is on display, but what we did get to was very enjoyable. My highlights were The Day Dream by Rosetti as well as a number of painting by Turner and William Blake.

We met up with more friends from home for dinner in Leicester Square. Daivd and Maria Adcock and their children Rachel and Evan were in town celebrating David’s grandmother’s 100th birthday. We had a really fun dinner together, including and intricate game of “would you rather”. Sadly we do not have a picture to remember this evening because we both forgot our cameras. We have no good excuse, but they do. Maria was sure she had her camera in her purse, but when she went to pull it out she discovered to her surprise that it was indeed not a camera, but a potato. Apparently the weight of a camera and cooking potato are remarkably similar. The potato was essential because of Evan’s recently purchased spud gun, fuelled by sticking it in the raw potato. Despite my extensive defensive measures (an umbrealla) I was hit 5 times at least.
