So its the last day in Sydney today. Have had a busy few days up to now and I think that we have definately covered everything. We went to Bondi yesterday on our first sunny day after all of the rain (worst in 148 years they say on the news!). Bondi was really nice, perfect rolling waves up the beach and crashing along the rocks and golden sand. It was just a shame it was too cold to swim (though I nearly had to). The waves are really decieving and in trying to wet my hands, it came in further than expected and I wass up to my knees in water, shoes and all. At least I can say I have paddled on the beach there! We also walked along the coast line for a bit which has stunning views and had a beer at 'Bondi Icebergs' which is one of the oldest swimming clubs in Australia. From the balcony there it was really spectacular to watch the waves crash up and over the outdoor pool which is right on the waters edge. Obviously its closed at this time of year.
The day before we bought ourselves ferry passes
Manly Beach
There were loads of surfers considering the weather! and went out on as many of the boats as we could. We went to Manly beach first to get fish and chips on the front which were really nice and there is also a coastal walk there too much the same as Bondi. Manly is where the surfers go and I was suprised to see so many out in the weather (it rained that day). I was very jealous though and would love to come back in the sunshine to try it one day. Not so great was passing Sydney heads on the sea cat on the way back after our food. Its where the bay goes into the ocean and in weather like we had, it was much rockier than usual (though I will admit I did want to go straight back to Manly again because I found it quite fun, much better than a roller coaster!)
Other than that, we have been to the observatory and done loads of walking, we also had a look around the national library which was really interesting and it also had a gallery there with loads of work by Max Dupont, an architecture photographer although he has done other stuff
The pool at Bondi Icebergs
Definately not water you'd want to swim in! too...
