New York New York, it's a Helluva Town

Right, so, coming to you live from Brussels, about 6 hours after I last updated, is Tristan, dishing all the goss on our time in New York City.

We left Toronto around 8 and drove straight through overnight, stopping at Niagra Falls again, and so we arrived in New York City on the morning of the 9th feeling very tired indeed. However, time was precious, and our first order of business was to sell the car. To this end, we stopped at the State of New York DMV for some advice.....which was 'fuck off.' Basically, as the car was registered in California, they didn't want to know about it. The car went on the back burner temporarily as our second order of business was a place to crash for the week, and at first we tried some hostels on the upper-west side, but after being met with frustration time and again, we finally found solace downtown in Chelsea, being told not only that they had room, but they had just what we wanted, a 4-bed room with A/C and a bathroom. Ace! We would be needing the 4 beds as we would have Carly with us the rest of the week, not to mention Ashley who would be with us the next 2 night before jetting out to the UK. The peeps at this hostel told us to wait till about midday (it was 9am) before we could check in. And so we waited, tired as shit, just wanting to crash. Eventually we got in, and after seeing the room it was decided immediately that we try elsewhere....the $32 a night we would pay would only get us a bed in a 10 person dorm, the 5 of us wouldn't be together (single-sex dorms) and basically.....it was shite. So we headed back uptown, and after fucking around in both Queens and the Upper-West-Side found the perfect solution at the Central Park Hostel on 103rd st, a 6-bed dorm, we would be the only people in there the first couple nights at least. However, instead of napping like the other boys, I decided time in NY was precious, and so went exploring through central park. Eventually landing back at the hostel, it was time to go and pick up Ashley and Carls from LaGuardia. Brad and Chris decided to head elsewhere, and so it was by myself I found myself on the subway. I talked to Ash, and since I was running late, it was decided I'd meet them at the bus stop in Queens, a very iffy-ish proposition. It was with much joy then, that i met them off the bus safe and sound. We headed back to the hostel, got settled in, and went out for a feed. We were all pretty tired, and so a relatively early night was on the cards.

The 10th, Wednesday was hot and humid, like every other damn day in the Big Apple. The lads and I were desperate to sell the car, and although we took a few calls, there was little action on that front.

---------Out of time!!! Check back later!!!-----------

car
We want to buy that car. Is it still available? And we recommend the YMCA as a good place to stay in New York.
