Step ONE: made it!!!! no problem at all, didnt get hit by lightening, lose a suitcase or a passport, still have the sister team together. seeing how lucky we usually are, that s a good first step...

We have just finished eating breakfast in our hostel, and we're getting ready to explore the big city. We got here yesterday super late after suuuuch a long journey so we didnt get to see much yet. The hostel is GOORGEOUS -again et toujours, say with british accent- and people are looovely -ditto- It old wooden and looked like a magical place from an Isabel Allende novel. Its full of paintings all over, from Dali to Madonna to revolutionaries, and random roman statues everywhere. When you enter you see a counter with an old peruvian lady with very strong beautiful features, a sleeping cat next to some skulls (we asked whosethey were, apparently the owner s uncle...umm yeah). We even have hot water before 8 am, a luxery really! There is a heavy cloud hung on the city (from april to deceñber), but still we go on the roof of the hostel and admire the roofs, the colours, to the sounds of music, honking and market venders. we can see the congress and other governement buildings from the roof, very well guarded...

The flights were long, especially 8 very turbulent hours to lima with no tv, two very drunk peruvian and a screaming kiddo (we almost locked her into a luggage compartment but then didnt): Our favorite quote:
Drunk guy to plane stewart person: *hips* you shouldnt chew gum lady, *hips* it makes you look very very tired!

Yep. gum is baaad.
French people are everywhere, especially here in the hostel. We ve just met a girl who has come back from Ayacucho and done the exact same project as ours, we re going to go with her to Miraflores today (posh part of lima -if one can call lima posh at all- beach part of town). Otherwise, we dont know if it s our accent or our funny faces, but people seem to make fun of us everytime we open our mouth!!

Oh and we ve been told that for peruvian men, hookin up with french girls is the ultimate jackpot, becasue they want a EU citizenship so much. GREAT! (that s sarcastic btw)

ok, gonna go explore away. note to self: guinea pig is called cuy. must remember to avoid that on menus for now...

besitos a todos!

Some seriously good shit!! MiSS u a lot, both of u look really gooood in those pics. =) don't do 2 many shots and smoke 2 much spinach there. In additional, the'ultimate jackpot' sounds interesting, and young people should't be afraid of taking on new challenges all the time! However, i think Mr. and Mrs. Arnaud might not agree with me on this issue. x
