Well what can I say.... words do not express the scenery in Norway. If ever you get chance to come, you must visit the fjords!!!

Having now spent 2 weeks on the road, my travel itinery was as follows.

I left England on the 12th May 2007 after spending several days in the lake district. This was to check the van out in good old blighty to make sure she was not going to cause trouble straight away. She is, however, performing superbly. Fingers crossed she will make it all the way to the artic circle and beyond.

The ferry crossing from Newcastle to Stavanger was so calm I could have been on a boat in the Carribean rather than in the North Sea. Following 19hrs aboard, a cheesy caberet act on board and losing some money on the black jack table, disembarking in Stavanger was wonderful. The first night spent in Norway was on the side of a lake with the most beautiful mountain back drops.... but there was more breath taking scenery to come.

The initial destination was Oslo for the Norway National day. Wow! They really know how to celebrate over here. Everyone dresses up and all the kids wave flags. It took 3 days to drive the full south coast of Norway to Oslo. There are some fantastic little fishing villages along the coast with wooden built houses. Very calming.

Having spent the weekend in Oslo, the destination was Bergen. This drive was just spectacular. Driving Hwy 7 and more scenic Hwy 50 crossing the mountains and fjords was awe inspiring. The frozen lakes and waterfalls are great. I do not have the connection for uploading photos as yet but will ASAP.

The fih market at Bergen was lovely. Crab sandwiches and prawns. A trip up the mountain for panaramic views etc.

I am now making my way along the longest fjord in Norway (Sognefjord) and will be heading through a glacier (acually underneath it and the road tunnels through) out to what should be the most spectacular fjord in Norway (so they say..)

Must sign off for now as time is short on the computer....
Will keep you updated soon.

Dave.
