We have arrived!

Ok so we have been a bit slack in getting a site/blog together but finally we had done it after much frustration (and money) at various Internet cafes! So as all our friends and family know we left for our travels at the end of February and spent our first week in Vancouver just basically sussing things out. We did some touristy things like going to Grouse Mountain (Vancouver's local hill) for Em's first snowboarding lesson and other general city sight seeing.

We then made our way up to the 'White North' of Whistler to try and become snowboarding bums. To our surprise this happened more easily than we thought and we scored some jobs and accommodation in the first few days- too easy! We stayed there for about 5-6 weeks and then decided we would throw in the towel just before the Telus World Ski and Snowboarding Festival. So we managed to get some days of snowboarding and fun times in with Em's new board at the festival before we headed off to Van again. We got to see some cool concerts including Stephen Marley (Bob Marley's son) which was so chilled out.

We had a great time in Whistler, the weather was pretty kind to us with some days being so warm and sunny on the mountain as the pics will show. Also the last two days we had fresh snow in Spring which was great landing on powder as Em's ass was so SORE!

Anyway here we are again back in Van trying to earn some real money for the next adventures. We are currently trying to find accommodation and then jobs, the accommodation is a little trickier than we first thought but I am sure we will find something soon. It is really different to last time as all the spring flowers are out in bloom and it is so pretty. It may only be 8 or 9 degrees but Karl is in T-shirts already and there is talk of donning his shorts and thongs. Em is slightly acclimatized but I wouldn't go that far but... we'll see!

Anyway the main reason we have set this up is not for us to dribble on but for you to check out some pics...finally I hear you say!

We will try and keep up to date from now on. We would also love to hear from all of you- get the low down on what is happening back home- so keep in touch.

Wow I figured it out!
Hay mate, So sorry I haven't written. But I have been reading your stuff. I am so jealous. You guys look like your having so much fun. Yeah birthday was great we went to the sit down comedy club with about 25 people, then some of us went out to the valley afterwards. School is getting really busy again and Carmen and I are pulling our hair out. It's 9pm and we've just finished work. who say teachers don't work hard! I finally had my wizdom teeth out. I am so so so sorry I didn't feel more sympathetic towards you when you got yours out. Wholey f---- it was something I am so glade you only have to do once in your life time. But of course I went home and lived with mum and dad, actually stretched it out to about 2 weeks until they said hey your better now p---ss off. So back with the boys and Davids gone again for a week up to cairns for week. David bought a trail bike so weve been riding most weekends. yeah its fun although I have stacked it twice. Papa len - mums dad found out he has bowl cancer so he got whipped in and they operated in less than a week and removed his bowl and half his spline or something. He's out of hospital now but dad's having to cook meals for them cause grandmas never been able to cook and is only feeding his scrambeled eggs and soup for dinner and he's loosing heaps of weight. But he is slowing getting better and they think that they got all the cancer. As for when we are coming over, we leave on 22 june and are only in london for a 2 days then start trecking off and we have 4 days in london when we return on the 27 july before we fly back on teh 30th I think. I'll check and let you no. I must say i have been missing you mate and are very jealous. hope your meeting some cool people over there (not as cool as us of course) I promise to try and write more often. CU Laura
