Start of Day two
the road to Rowerderan Tuesday
Its been a long, long day. Left the campsite at 8am as i couldnt sleep much. Was cold and uncomfortable, so decided to get up and have an early start.
Headed towards Rowerdern. Got there at 10.50. Had to wait ten minutes for the Rowedern Hotel to open up for lunch. Had mushroom soup and a steak pie while watching the repeat of the Aston Villa vs Everton match from monday night. Watched the first half, but decided to leave if i wanted to get anywhere today. Walked up the side of Ben Lomond for a while, before heading back to the shore line. Meet a guy who caught up with me when i stopped to take a photo. We ended up walking together for the rest of the day.
He was getting picked up by his wife at Inveranan and i ended up walking the full distance with him. Over twenty miles since i started and a good ten hours i finally reached Ben Glass campsite. It was a very difficult walk with many arkward stretches to overcome. I would reccomend to anyone planning on doing the WHW to consider splitting this route into two. I never
seen anyone else on the route and no one overtook me at any point. I have done three days walking in two, so was feeling proud, but tired.
Campsite is good. The toilet block isnt as good as last night, but its clean and everything is there. Just in smaller numbers. The site also has a pub and shop. Got a pair of socks there for ten pound. Had to buy them. For dinner I picked up a tin of stewed steak and a tin of baked bean. Mixed them together and had a fufulling diner. Also got some crisps and a packet of buscuits to go with my tea.
