b.a "no more" Hi Paul. I get the point about BA. Never mind you holiday has started properly now. enjoy the New Year celebrations over there. Weather here is not so good just the usual "dampness" :) Speak to you in 2008. Take care. Looking forward to the adventure stories of this trip.
Hi Paul Great blog of the Way! I'm the guy from Springburn that met you a few times along the way and had a few enjoyable pints with you in Kinlochleven. Hope you're enjoying China, all the best mate!!!
Hi Dad. Warning Squat toliet information ahead. No pics, but heres what to expect.
When you use a squat toliet, you dont want to hang about afterwards to take a picture. You want to get out of them as soon as. Most have a bucket of water nearby with a ladel to help flush it away. However sometimes it isnt designed to flush away.
The attendents job is to come in and scoop it out every so often. It must be the crappiest job in the world. Its so clatty. Toliet paper is also a no. You have a water hose to either wash your bum or your hands. Depends on how you cleaned yourself. Sometimes it might only be a ladel. Thankfully there are not many about. China seems to have the worst ones. Indonesia has the most.
You wont hear me ever say this again, but thank God for McDonalds and the rest. They always have a clean, flushing toliet
Hi Tam thats a stroke of genuis calling it 'Merapi Chicken'. If i find the recipe I'll add it to my menu of the new cafe I should open when I get back. I think the monkeys were to fast to be caught. Would love to have eaten one of the little trouble makers though.
long blog entry did your pc break down or did the government censor your entries? i can't believe how white you still look after all this time. can't think of anything humourous to say that wont embarrass you by being all lovey and parental so i'll just continue following your journey and keep my comments until you're home again. remember to try get pictures of some squat toilets to give us some idea ofwhat to expect.
see you soon.
niceto see you catching up hi paul
you been busy. nice to see the blog and pictures updated. anyhow where that golden tan thought you look like a native by now. anyway take care and i'll catch you later you little monkey.
Your travels Good to read yr blog and hope you enjoy the rest of ur travels. My neice down in England did something similar last year, but different countries.
Wish I was young again. Safe return when u do decide to come back. Peter.
Chicken Paul, the 'merapi chicken' sounds mouth-watering. I had chicken earlier but think our cook only managed to catch the old stringy ones which couldn't run fast enough - tough and tasteless! Did you come across any BBQ monkey? Sounds like you are having a whirlwind tour but it must make the world of a difference to have the company of someone you know. Looking forward to the next installment. Keep safe.
Hi Tam Even though Singapore has all these laws, in all my time here I have only ever seen 1 police car. I think its more of a case that the punishment is enough of a deterent.
Dont tell anyone, but I have also jay walked. If I dont appear online soon, send donations for my bail money to paulsinjailagain@prison.com
These are my travelblogs for the last few years. Plan on adding much more so keep an eye out for my latest adventures
