So after a week in Thailand we have finally taken a moment out of lying on the beach to update the travel blog. We have managed to find the busiest internet cafe in Lamai but it is very cheap. All of the local boys are playing computer games and some are even wrestling in the corner. It seems to be the place to be and suprisingly easy to write in.

Bangkok... Busy, Noisy, Great.

After settling in with a few Singha beers we decided that a tuk tuk ride was in order to see the sights. Our driver was friendly enough, although insisted he take us to a few of the sites like Big Buddha, Marble palace and Government house. Reassurance was given that it would only be 20 Baht each way (total 40 baht). I thought there must be a catch. After the first two sites we ended up at government house (aka. Chin Jewellry Co. !!!). Very sneaky. But we didn't buy any jewellry and ended up having a 2 hour tour of the city much to the disappointment of our driver.

Caught a ferry down to China town, very crowded, there were even people standing on the "reserved for monks only rail of the boat", which I might add had the best view. Dad (Greg) I'm sure there were enough life jackets on board!! Busiest China town ever, Jane and I had lunch for $2 - a bag of fishcakes and cucumber sauce and something yummy with currants on rice noodle.

Grand Palace in the afternoon...kinda speaks for itself. Very "grand" plus had some amazing gardens and bonzai in the grounds. Stevie, you would be in awe.

Only had a day or so in Bangkok and only saw a tiny bit. But have vowed to go back to explore some more and it goes without saying, eat lots of yummy food and drink heaps of Singha.

Anyway, off the have some duck for lunch. More on Lamai (Ko Samui) soon...

I would be able to tell you exactly what I was standing in front of if I hadn't picked up the Chinese version of the map...always.
