Back to the future indeed. It's been a huge leap from the oldfashioned, male chauvinistic and women condisending environment in India. I wouldn't have believed how frustrating it would be staying in such a country before I left. At first it didn't bother me that much, I found it kindof funny that men always talked to Steinthor instead of me and things like that. But when they really don't listen to a word you say and so forth it makes it almost unbearable to be there. I know many people have experienced India as a wonderful place and this and that but somehow I missed out on those wonderful things.
Anyway, Kuala Lumpur is a totally different world to India and Nepal. Here everything is relatively clean (where I've been at least) and you don't stand out as much. You don't see live stock on the streets, the air doesn't smell like urine or feces, and buildings are real. It's like 30 years or so more developed and modern. We've only been here this afternoon and spent it walking between malls and stuff so I will tell you later if it doesn't depict the whole strory. We saw some nice things on the way from the airport and nothing reminded me of India. Plan is to spen another 2 days here seeing the sites and then go off to some island and relax, perhap learn to dive.
