Jen: We arrived at the new Bangkok airport and immediately noticed the lack of chaos that we had encountered the last time we had come. We meet a group of tourists at the airport and shared a taxi with them to Khao San Rd. They included an older couple who had been travelling for 10 years and had just come to Bangkok to get their teeth checked!! And an Irish guy (Emmet) and an English guy (Chris Leg), who turned out to have worked with Gavin Douglas in London. The world is WAY too small. That night we met up with Emmet and Chris for drinks and bar hopped around Khao San Rd.

Next day was a sleep in and off to Chinatown to check out the stalls. Heaps of cheap things to buy there and yummy food!! Also some really unusual food was sold there and I was fascinated to look at all the range of textured, coloured and fragranced foods. We headed to MBK, which is a massive shopping centre for some air-con and cheap clothes, shoes etc. Over spent our budget that day...oops.

Next day was another early morning flight to Denpasar, Bali.....
