The only real purpose of this entry is to post some pictures I took today. The weather and light were so perfect; I couldn't resist going out to shoot! Plus, Mom made me feel guilty for not using my camera much lately...

Around campus we have a ton of flowers, mostly daffodils, that just grow wild, though there are some planted against the buildings. So pretty! Some of these pictures are also taken down by this dodgy-looking little pond that is near the gym... though close-up I guess it doesn't look so bad. Then I walked over to the cemetery (again, I know...am I morbid? But it's pretty!) and wandered to the back of it, where I discovered all these tiny little flowers growing wild, which aren't as abundant in the part of the cemetery you see walking through. Enjoy...

My week hasn't been too eventful. Just working on some homework assignments, going out on Monday and Thursday, and dealing with some drama with guys -- both for me, with guys here, and a friend, with a guy back home. I went shopping on Friday with Jay, Mary, Betsy and Victoria in Southampton; we took the train. There's a super cheap store called Primart, and I bought two shirts and a purse there, then a pair of pink flats (yes, I'm giving into the English fashion...) at a shoe store. Jay and I got shopped out before the other girls, so we sat and talked for awhile. We ate in the food court, which was 80% American choices (Quizno's for me!!) and headed back for another uneventful evening.

Oh, and I got the information back from the HostUK program! Basically, I get matched with a British family anywhere in the UK -- though I specified a price limit for the distance I'm willing to travel -- and I will get to spend a weekend with them, for free, except for my cost of travel. My family is a couple in their 50s, with two kids about my age, who live in Devon, which is about four hours west of here, by train. They have a dog and a cat (I asked for my family to have pets!) AND 20+ sheep; they live in the countryside. I'm really looking forward to it! I will be going the weekend I get back from Easter break, so I'll be travel-weary by the last weekend in April -- yet it'll be so worth it! I know it will be a great experience.

Tomorrow I have a Requiem performance (the one by Faure) in the local Methodist church with the choir, and it's Brittany's birthday on Monday. Here, people do "dress-up" themes for their parties, so on Monday I'll be dressed "as my favorite color" (pink, of course!) to go out to Bar 3one. Should be a good time.

And then --- PRAGUE! I leave on Wednesday! I can't wait to see Becky and Ben, and take a ton of pictures!

Signing off until after Prague...
