Having finally had enough of Acapulco, we jumped on the first bus out of there to peurto escondido, 7 hours further down the coast. The bus journey was horrendous and I thot it was never goin to end! Drove through some really poor parts of Mexico...bit like a third world country...loads of people washing themselves and their clothes in rivers and the journey was over ramps and through dust tracks for the full 7 hours...no roads!!! I managed to fall asleep for an hour or so only to be woken by the mexican army who were conducting a check point and searched the bus, all of the bags and locals who were on the bus...completely armed with their huge rifles.....good times!
Eventually arrived in Escondido in the dark and got dropped off at a beach house which was only fit to stay in for one night. Thankfully, it was dark and could not see the state of the room! Found this amazing studio/aparthotel and packed our bags and made a move the following morning, however on our journey, we were sidetracked by a man who coaxed us into his hotel to show us a room for half the price that
we were goin to pay. The room was lovely and we couldnt believe our luck for the price. After he left, we noticed 7 or 8 cockroaches lying dead in the room which David quickly discarded and we thought nothing of it...spent all day chillin on the beach which is fabulous...so relaxing and chilled out....returned to the room only to find an infestation in the room of cockcroaches everywhere, even in the bed and under the pillow. David also discovered a few lizards who appeared to be residents. And I mean huge cockroaches...like 3 inches long before u think we are wusses...We killed them all and jst when we thot our work was done, three or four more then scuttled in under the door...we grabbed our bags and pegged it so fast...through the key in with a neighbour and told him to pass on a message and bolted up to the studio apartment praying that it was still available which it was....(no photo available of infestation...we left that fast!)
Despite the three different rooms in one day, we´re finally settled and have learnt our second lesson...you only get what you pay for! We love escondido tho....exactly what we were hoping for. Huge empty beaches, real good travellers scene, great food and a few beach bars for the evening! The surf is also great and escondido is world famous for it...so we are hoping to stay here for a week at least so we´ll keep you posted with pics etc...thanks for all your messages, keep them coming as its so good the hear from everyone at home!

You seem to be having a great time. City of Derry seem to be missing you badly as they got well trounced at the week end by Hinch. When you were playing they only got beat badly. By the way have you the key of the TMU office still. A lot of people here are keeping up with your Blog so keep it coming. Get some Pics of the beach on. Talk soon. Brian
