Marie ordered all the balloons for the first day...Koreans are very hands on people, this part of the school was built in three days!! It was unbelievable that the workers finished on time!
Dear friends and family!
Today was our first day of kindergarten classes! It was quite chaotic with many cryers and clingers. We only had an hour with the kids because we had celebration with the parents. We do a lot of singing at Sullivan. There is a song for lining up, eating snack, saying good-bye, and of course...the school song which starts off " Here we are at school...its nice to be here"...the kids are very cute when they sing. Along with my first day of school, it was also my first snow day! No joke! I looked out the window at about 11 o'clock AM and these HUGE flakes were coming down! It was cold but it still doesn't compare with the Canadian winter.
As I said before myself and two other teachers have joined a local Gym. Its actually pretty cheap if you sign up for a whole year and this gym is extreme!! Here is the website link for all of you to check out...www.californiawowx.co.kr. I will take some pictures and send them to you soon~ I haven't really travelled to far out of Sinsa-dong but this weekend we are going to check out a more trendier area

and see what we can find there. Its very easy to get lost in Korea because there are no street signs or building/house numbers. As a froeigner, I have no clue how people know where they are going or if they got something delivered to there house how you would find it! So far we have been using mostly landmarks but even then it can be tricky because everything looks the same to me!! Jasmine and I are going to take Korean lessons at city hall on Saturdays...they are free which is nice. All the streets look like back alleys so that also makes things a bit harder but we have been managing and are starting to get some favorite restaurants and coffee houses. My new favorite drink is called TeJava. It tastes like earl grey tea but it comes in a can. There is a corner store right by the school that sells them and they are served warm in a can. Most convenient stores have things that look like a beverage fridge but they are actually keeping the drinks hot! Again a genius idea by the Koreans.
The days are pretty long, we teach from 9:30 AM to
