Hello hello.
Back from my 5 day tour of the 'red centre' now.
It was pretty exhausting...up at 4am every morning to catch the GORGEOUS sunrises and "beat the heat". The weather topped 40 degrees every day....and those damn flies! I had to invest in a fly net! It truley is the best invention ever!
The sunsets/sunrises are sensational...the sky is so clear, at night u see millions of stars! its pretty!
Our tour guide was a baffoon of a man...but the people were fun! We enjoyed abusing him amongst ourselves!

I Had to write down where I've been because half of the time I didn't have a clue where I was or why I was there...(nice one mr tour guide! grrr!)
OK...so to sum it up...
Day 1- drove lots, went to a camel farm, did a half hour walk through kata tjanga (the olgas) in about 45 degree heat- a lady had to go to hospital (nice one tour guide!)....then we went to see the sunsetting at uluru. This was sensationally beautiful.

Day 2- Went to Uluru first thing, saw sunrise- again...sensational! Decided NOT to climb...its HUGE...and nobody else did! So i braved the 9.4km walk....it was hot...even at 5am! Really glad I did it though, its a pretty rock! Took about 2 hours.
Then we did some other stuff before getting to our campsite at Kings Creek cattle station- the flies were terrible! Here 5 of us decided to ride a camel for an hour over sunset...pretty ey?
WELLLLLL it was for the first 45 minutes...then my camel (GYPSY) decided to turn into a maniac and started bucking and running away with me. It was VERY scary! After about 4 times of this, camel lucy- the leader lady person- decided i should dismount gypsy. SHe kept having these crazy fits when i was off her and scared all the other camels! Hmmm! Nicht so gut!

Day 3- HIked up kings canyon...can't really remember much of it...all the walks seemed to be the same...hot and full of rocks and pretty sights...of more rocks!
There are trees and stuff too. HMm! OOooh but this was where precilla queen of the desert was filmed! There's also a little gorge called the garden of eden, where we ate apples.
Our campsite was Glen Helen Gorge...which was a gorge...we swam! It was cool and nice! yum!
We saw this amazing aboriginal didgeridooooooo player at night! He was fun! He taught us the basics and how they're made and stuff! A good night! Well, i say night...we were all asleep by 9pm...good old 4am starts!

Day 4- seemed to involve a lot of hiking up rocks again....to see...well...views of rocks really! We swam in another gorge (Ellery creek) and saw some other important things that are on the map. Oh and rock wallabies.
We stayed in Wallace Rockhole- its an aborigonal community. THere are about 100 of them and none have jobs! WE got a tour of some rock art by this hillarious aussie guy!

day 5- was even more walking around rocks....in the head....BLAH! and lots of 4 wheel driving! THATS FUN! i was bouncing like a kangarooooooo! hehe. then we stopped at some place to see more rock art. then back to this cute hostel! Popped to supermarket in town- this abo guy with 2 teeth and split lips asked me for a drink, he was pretty scary...i didnt have one.

THIs morning, i woke up and a gecko was on my ceiling!
TOday- I have been into Alice Springs picking up postcards and other stuff! I went to a reptile centre this morning- it was ok...a python was around my shoulders but i opted out of holding the lizards! Its still hot. Im waiting for my washing to wash.

Off to Cairns tomorrow. I'll be glad to leave behind the flies!
Gunna hop in the pool now i think! BYe byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee x
