Hyde Park
One of the few sunny days that we have had so headed down to the Serpentine lake in Hyde Park. It's so beautiful! Hello Hello!
Alrighty, so I have decided that I should follow in Erin's footsteps and create a traveling blog while I am here in Europe.
London has been pretty fabulous so far. I love living in a huge city because I love public transportation that actually works! I have only gotten lost a few times, but the good thing about London is that there is either a tube station or a bus station within a few minutes walk. I've gotten pretty good at figuring out the tube, though I did do a pole dance-like swing onto an old man's lap when the train jerked foreward when I wasn't paying attention. No worries- no brusies for me, though I think the old man might have gotten one or two when I wailed him in the chest my my elbow.
Basically I have been a walking hazzard thus far on this trip. I have ruined 3 good shirts because I spilled coffee or tea on two of them, and the third has enormous grease stains from goodness knows what. I have also managed to run face first into a caution sign in the middle of the hallway
Kitchen Window
View from my Kitchen window. definitely one of the worth-while benefits to the five flights of stairs! at the Music Hall. What can I say, I got distracted by all the artwork on the walls! My roomates have already coined me as the clutz on the trip, rightfully so.
On another pole-dancing note, ... I went to take a dance class the other day and discovered that besides Ballet, Modern and African Dance classes, they offer several pole and burlesque dance classes as well. Apparently pole dancing is a very highly sought after dance class in London because every dance place I have looked to take classes offers it. Though I did consider taking the class because my Modern class was filled up, I decided to go to an African Dance class instead. Because the class was free, they shoved 45 people in such a small room, but it was so worth it. The teacher was so much fun... and he would totally make fun of all of us beginners by saying "Now this next move is very very easy.... but only for mmeee! Hahaha Good luck to the beginners, because you will need it!" Regardless, he was great and it was a fun class.
At the moment, I am finishing my third

The benefits of the five flights of stairs!
It's beautiful! week of classes, which means I am already half way though two of them. I like that two of my classes are only six weeks long because it gives me more time to travel after the classes are over with, but being one class for 3 1/2 hours/class twice a week is draining, and even worse because I have 2 classes back to back on Mondays and Tuesdays. Blaaa. It's hard because I have two 8:30 am classes, and because the sun rises at 8 am over here, I have no motivation to get up. Surprise Surprise.
My Music in 20th Century Britain is amazing. Basically we sit around and listen to the Beatles and Indie Rock bands. My teacher is Australian and gorgeous, so that is a definite bonus! My History of Modern Design is definitely disappointing though. The professor is nice enough, but she is so scatter brained. I have to admit I am a little scared of her solely for the fact I think she comes off as a little unstable... you know the kind... when you talk to them for too long, you get a little scared that they are going to break down
Big Ben!
Well, sort of... actually Big Ben is the name of the giant bell at the bottom of the tower. in front of you... I don't think that will ever happen, but I can't help but think that.
The rooming situation is still going just fine. We are all getting along for the most part, but its obvious that the fun, getting-to-know-each-other part is over and we are all really craving some personal space... and it isn't going to happen any time soon. This week has been especially tight because one of the two bathrooms that we share was broken, and the one that worked did not have a temperature button so it scorched all of us. Some of us resorted to washing our hair in the sink because it hurt too much in the shower, but alas, they came to fix both showers as of yesterday so I do not have to wake up two hours early to be clean.
On another note, I am going to Stonehenge this weekend! It's funny to actually see these stones that has practically been on page 2 of every art history book that I have ever read. Yes... I know I am a dork but I accept that fact. Woo hoo! I heard though that there is a
West Minster
I didn't get to go in this time around because I didn't realize I had to pay, but it was still beautiful from the outside! fence around it now... darn... I was so hoping to see exactly how much strength it takes to push one of them over...
Thats it for now. I will try to post regularly to keep yall updated on what's going on.
I hope every one is doing well!
